The Florida PACE (Property Assessed Clean Energy) Funding Agency (Agency) through its E|VEST Program today announced that $200 million in financing is now available to property owners in subscribing local government jurisdictions for qualifying energy efficiency, renewable generation and wind-resistance home or commercial business improvements or repairs. The improvement financing will be repaid over time as part of the property owner’s annual property tax assessment.

10/23/2012: Florida Pace Funding Agency Opens First Office

The Florida PACE Funding Agency (FPFA) was established by a Florida Statute in 2010 to provide voluntary, low cost financing to individual property owners for energy conservation, renewable energy and wind resistant improvements. Special assessments are to be repaid by property owners through a special assessment on the owner’s property tax bill. The Agency, through a sweeping public procurement process, selected SAIC Energy, Environment and Infrastructure, LLC to administer the program. In a like manner, the Agency solicited and is in final negotiations with several private funding organizations to fund these individual property improvements. To provide access to the program, the Agency has completed renovations and officially opened their first office located at 1000 Legion Place in Orlando. This location will be the headquarters for the program where property owners, construction contractors and distributors can receive program briefings, eligible product and systems information and details on how they can participate.

The Florida PACE Funding Agency has selected Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) [NYSE: SAI] to provide third party administration services for the delivery of the Agency’s property assessed clean energy (PACE) program. The program is the only statewide program in the country designed to encourage property owners to voluntarily seek financing for certain energy efficiency, renewable energy, or wind resistance improvements. Work will be conducted by SAIC’s wholly owned subsidiary SAIC Energy, Environment & Infrastructure LLC.
